Summer students can relax during summer classes by enjoying a sunrise yoga class with the Outdoor Education Center.
The class is free to all summer students.
The event is taught and led by a UNC Campus Recreation instructor.
Unlike the merchandise at the promotional events, the merchandise for the events mentioned above are targeting people who are starting to support the OEC and who are continuously going to events. This merchandise wouldn’t be free like the Phase 2 merchandise, but we believe that these items will create a profit among consumers who are beginning to incorporate the OEC into their identity.
Water bottle
Keychain
T-Shirt
By Phase 3, we are hoping that engagement on the OEC’s social media sites will be increasing. Therefore, Facebook event pages will be made to advertise the variety of events the OEC will offer, Instagram posts will feature event content and Twitter will be utilized frequently to advertise events and interact with those who have questions/comments about the event.
“I went to the OEC as part of a class project, and it was such a great experience. I really bonded with my teacher and classmates, in addition to sliding down a zip line! My favorite thing was the flying Squirrel because of the adrenaline from being pulled straight into the air! I'm definitely going back with a group of friends soon.” - Erin
“As a senior who always wanted to go to the climbing wall and never got around to it, I am so glad I finally did this semester. I took the introduction to climbing class and immediately felt compelled to take my belay test and start climbing. The climbing staff was extremely helpful in teaching me how to climb safely, and I have had nothing but good experiences as I have started going a few times a week. Everyone is always down to help you and the environment is perfect to relax from a long day of class. If you were like me, go ahead and take the plunge. I promise you won’t regret it.” - Scott
“When I was an Orientation Leader, I went to the OEC with the other leaders for a team-building day retreat. I learned a lot about team dynamics and communication skills while getting to enjoy the zipline and ropes course. It was an extremely fun experience and a perfect way to bond outside of a formal setting!” - Kealia
